I found my inspiration for this Ocean Rocks Seascape Painting at the Fishermen’s Memorial State Park in Narragansett, Rhode Island. The park is just a stone’s throw to the west of the iconic Point Judith Lighthouse.

One beautiful late summer afternoon I was wandering along the breakwater of this Harbor Refuge, and I was immersed in beauty at nearly every turn. This scene, however, mesmerized me. The surf was rough that day, but it didn’t just slam into the rocks and retreat; Instead, it exploded and it danced, and it jumped in delight, the white foam forming images and abstracts that changed in the blink of a well pleased eye.

The Harbor Refuge has been my inspiration for many seascape paintings, including ‘Harbor Refuge’, ‘Rocky Shore’, and ‘Point Judith’, just to name a few.
