Seascape Painting of Narragansett Rhode Island by Artist Charles C. Clear III

Ocean Road Narragansett Painting
12 ” x 16″, Acrylic on Canvas, 2008
by Charles C. Clear III

As a child, I spent my summers by the water in Narragansett, Rhode Island. While the sea has a mystique and an unfathomable allure, the rocks that line the coast in Narragansett always held a special fascination – they were the immovable objects standing their ground against an irresistible force. They ranged in size from very large to very small, and they had textures and colors that changed in the ever changing light. When wet, the rocks would sparkle like diamonds in the sun, and in their midst they held secrets from the sea. This painting, the first in a series, is a memorial to those endless summer days spent exploring the rocks in Narragansett.
