‘Narragansett Towers at Sunset’ is a hand-painted trompe-l’oeil Mural that features the historic Narragansett Towers bathed in the glorious colors of a spectacular sunset. The sky is seemingly on fire with hot orange and red embers that give way to cooler purples and hues of dusky blue. The Narragansett Towers stand majestic and magnificent – it’s warm stones illuminated by unseen spotlights. The Coast Guard House can be seen below the arch, and a smattering of cars is parked along the sea wall. The fountain with the green fish sculpture occupies the entire corner. On the right is a driveway leading to a blue gate, and just behind it are several homes in a tree-lined neighborhood. Cars pass along a steel blue Ocean Road, and then disappear behind the silhouettes of sea roses, which frame both sides of the mural.

The entire scene of the Narragansett Towers is depicted through a painted trompe-l’oeil picture window with dark wood and raised wood grain, which compliments both the furniture and the actual molding in the room.

The Narragansett Towers mural is a companion piece to my Block Island Ferry mural. Both were painted in the same private residence in Narragansett, Rhode Island. The homeowners were so pleased with the first trompe-l’oeil mural that they brought me back the following year to paint the second.
